19 February 1945:  Command Group plus Hq Company departed Wonck, Belgium 13.00hrs and arrived new station Helden, Holland 15.40hrs. Distance 64 miles, Companies A and C remained in Wonck, attd 289 Infantry Regiment. Company B departed Wonck and arrived Baexem.

 

20 February 1945: Bn CP plus HQ company, Helden, Holland, Battalion attached to 75th Division Artillery. Company A remained in Wonck, attd 289 Infantry Regiment. Company B in position vicinity of Baexem, attd 291 Infantry Regiment,re-attd 889 Field Artillery Bn. 1st Platoon, Company B plus two guns of 2 Platoon took up indirect firing positions east of Heijthuizen. 3rd Platoon B. Company plus 2 guns o 2nd platoon took up indirect firing positions east of Heijthuizen. Company C  in position vicinity Maasbrre, attd 290 Infantry Division  re-attd 898 Field Artillery Bn. Company C left Wonck, Belgium via motor convoy and arrived near Maasbree 12.00hrs, 60 miles. 3 Platoons formed into 2 platoons of 6 guns each.

 

21 February 1945: Bn CP Hq Company, Helden. Attd 75 Div Arty. Company A left Wonck, Belgium 06.45hrs and arrived vicinity of Nieuw Californie (Grubbenvorst) Holland. 13.30hrs, distance 72 miles. Company divided into 2 platoons, 6 guns in one and 5 guns in the other and took up indirect fire postions. Company A attd 897 Field Artillery Battalion. Company B attd 899 FAB in position near Baexem. Company C attd 898 FAB in position near Maasbree. 1Platoon. Companies reld fire attachment to their reps Regiments but remain attached to FA Battalions.

Company A fired 7 rounds Star shell illuminating area containing enemy MG posts, enabling supporting artillery to neutralize MGs.

Company B fired on registration mission (10rounds HE).

Company C fired 2 rounds Star shell.

Company C fired 16 rounds HE M42A1 on dug-outs and entrenchments, Results-unknown.

 

28 February 1945: All gun positions and attachments remained the same.

Company A fired 1 harrasing mission, 18 rounds HE, fired 1 registration mission, 29 rounds HE and also fired 30 rounds at target of opportunity.

Company B fired 1 registration mission (10 rounds HE).

Company C fired 1 registration mission (16 rounds HE).

Strenght 29 officers, 2 WO, 639 EM, Loss 3 Officers, 12 EM.

 

1 March 1945: All gun positions and attachments remained the same, exept for Company B ,they departed Baexem at 14.45hrs and arrived assemly area southeast of Maasbree at 16.00hrs.

Company A fired 1 harrasing mission 21 rounds HERC, results unknown.

 

2 March 1945: Battalion Grp plus HQ Company departed Helden at 05.15hrs and arrived at Echt, Holland 08.30hrs. Distance 32 miles. Company A remained in position vic Sevenum, Holland. Company B departed assembly area southeast of Maasbree, Holland at 04.45hrs by motor convoy and arrived assembly area southeast of Echt at 08.30hrs.

 

3 March 1945: Battalion Grp plus HQ Company departed Echt at 13.55hrs and arrived Velden 17.15hrs, distance 35 miles.

Company A remained in position vic Sevenum.

Company A  relfd fr attachement to 897 FA Bn and attd to RCT 289, and attd to British 2nd Army.

3 Platoon Company B departed assembly area southeast of Echt via motor convoy to positions southwest of Walbeck, Holland at 04.30hrs. Company B reld fr attachement to 899 FA Bn and attd to RCT 291. Company B less 3rd platoon, departed assembly area Southeast of Echt 13.00hrs via motor convoy. Arrived assembly area 3 miles north of Venlo at 19.30hrs. 2 platoon Company C left Gebroek at 21.00hrs for unknown destination.

 

4 March 1945: Battalion Grp plus HQ Company Velden, Holland.

3 Platoon Company B returned to Co assembly area 3 miles north of Venlo, Holland.

Company B attd to RCT 291. 1 section, 3 platoon Company B in pos vic Auwel, Germany.

Company C left Gebroek, Holland 00.05hrs via motor convoy and arrived near Westerbroek, Germany 04.30hrs. 2 platoon Company C in position vic Auwel, Germany attd to RCT 290.

Company A left Nieuw California, Holland at 10.00hrs and arrived at Alst, Germany.

Company B reld fr RCT 291 and reverted to Bn control at 14.09hrs and assembled vic Schandelo, Holland.
